Fire Detection & Suppression

Fire Detection & Suppression

AAC can offer all types of automatic fire detection and fire alarms from small conventional systems to full blown analogue addressable.

Whilst the main focus of a fire protection strategy should be to prevent fire, should a fire accidentally break out, early automatic fire detection is essential.

Every second saved through early warning facilities could make the difference to a site's ability to recover from a fire without too much disruption. Fire detection systems provide the earliest possible warning of a developing emergency situation, which in turn, can facilitate safe and swift evacuation of people from your premises.

As standard AAC will utilise Morley Control Panels, Apollo Detectors and Sounders but will always try and meet the specification of any specific project.

Our team of experienced designers and engineers can offer full design, supply, install, commission and service of both conventional and addressable systems - commercial or domestic.

AAC have always believed in offering open protocol systems, this then (in the unlikely event of AAC not being the service/maintenance provider) allows any professional company to maintain and/or change the system without being tied to one supplier or installer.

Aberdeen Alarm Company is proud to be BAFE accredited which is the independent, third-party certification registration organisation for the fire protection industry. They offer the benefits of third-party certificated quality fire protection companies. With our BAFE accreditation you can be assured of receiving the most professional advice and the highest standard of installation and service.

Automatic Fire Supression

This conventional method of automatic detection and extinguishing systems utilises double knock or coincidence operation of the smoke detection system.

The smoke detectors are wired in two zones, any one detector will give you an alarm a second detector E.G. the next detector will discharge the extinguishant within the protected areas. This system has a control panel and the facility to have the system on manual automatic or isolated. It is recommended that any air movements systems are closed down and that the area has a full integrity test carried out to ensure the systems ability to extinguish fire and prevent re ignition.

These systems can be integrated with an aspirating system and with a variety of extinguishing agents such as Co2, FM200, Novec 1230, Argonite, Nitrogen etc.

Typical Areas of Protection:

  • Computer Rooms
  • Generator Rooms
  • Electrical Switch Rooms
  • Storage Areas
  • Chemical Warehouses
